For author insert routines and news visit ninakoru. In this patch, Ninakoru makes a number of subtle modifications to the core gameplay and leveling systems in Secret of Evermore. Although one might not notice these modifications at first, they definitely make Secret of Evermore a better game.
One of the best modifications included in this patch are systems in which experience is shared between similar weapon and magic types. I should also note that the patch maintains a decent level of difficulty throughout the majority of the game. For the most part, enemies and bosses were challenging without being overly difficult. However, near the end of the game enemies tended to have a bit too much HP and took forever to kill. The final boss was also way to hard to beat in my opinion.
Despite these minor shortcomings, the patch significantly improves upon the original Secret of Evermore. Overall, I highly recommend it. Newest Hacks. Mitsume ga Tooru. SLX 7 years ago 4. I also replayed the balance hard patch some months ago and I loved it. Playing hard you will have to be very careful in some spots. Certainly the start of Antiqua where some of the rogues one shot killed me at some points.
While being hard it was not brutal and it was still a lot of fun to play. Props to the creator of the patch, I loved it. ForTheRobot 7 years ago 5. I am glad to hear some good feedback on them. I love this game. I am going to try out the Balance Patch first then move onto the Hard Mode later today. The alchemy mechanics I thought were so cool for the time back in the day when this came out haha.
ForTheRobot 7 years ago 6. Been playing the Balance patch. I liked the increased difficulty, I am about to be finished with the first part of the game again. I had died after making a mistake after reaching the part with the boy alone on the beach I wish the weapon levels, and magic were balanced a bit more still, then again you can only do so much xD I would like to see the weapons gain levels quickly, and having to use charge attacks more so when dealing with enemies.
Still, playing this game is just great. I always enjoy the music and the ambient feel it brings to some parts of the game. More topics from this board Starting this game for the first time! Well, at last Well, this patch has one main objective, and is making the game much more enjoyable on the gameplay side. No new monsters, no hard mode, just loads of tweaks to avoid mass grinding and to have a fairly challenging game in front of us in every moment. I KNOW is just a plain horrible site, but i don't have time to put it more decent right now.

After I patched it it says the checksum is OK but I'm not sure if anything in game has changed, any quick way to tell? Thanks again.
Hehehe, good one Maybe i should have inserted something on the intro to let you know you ARE playing the modded game. Well, you can start a new game, and skip most of the intro scenes , hitting start. You then begin on the jungle and get the bonecrusher. If the patch is correctly applied, the bonecrusher will have 13 attack power instead of 10 you can see it on the weapon equip ring , also you can see how the dog has 8 starting defense, instead of 10, on the stats screen.
Played up past Thraxx just now, doesn't seem much different than before, but I'll wait until Gothica to expect any obvious changes. I like the Bone crusher's higher attack already, made those pesky maggots more manageable. Also, it seemed like Thraxx had a weaker Acid Rain, was I just imagining this?
