Do that and we'll pay you. Oh, and we're having this big political rally Friday why don't you come down. We'll have food and a live band, oh and we're having a speaker as well. We'll feed them all, and you can listen to music, and our speaker, and we might give you some clothes too.
And why not tell all your friends about it as well. The Nazi's would have lots of food, and they'd sometimes give out clothes and they'd have a big band.
They would also have people in the audience that were paid to cheer out at certain times in the speaker's speech. You'd get so caught up in the atmosphere of the event that you really wouldn't listen to what the speaker was talking about, but along with it because it sounded cool, and other people were getting into it. The point of this song is to demonstrate that. If you don't speak German this song sounds really cool, and meaningful.
But if you speak German, or translate it to English Or what ever language you speak it's really just a recipe. It demonstrates that people will go along with anything if it's dressed up enough, and the right way.
PissedSatanist on February 23, Link. There was an error. Its too damn bad this isn't on the front page of this translation. That was a brilliant explanation that doesn't require delving deep into one's psyche, and unfortunately I doubt anyone will see it. General Comment Yay! I finally found the English translation cos it aint on the official Tool website Harry Manback on February 28, Link. No Replies Log in to reply. Harry Manback. General Comment cool General Comment Did anyone know that this is a recipe for Russian Tea cakes?
I did. General Comment Hmmmm.. NicoleInWonderland on April 27, Link. Die Eier Von Satan song meanings. Add Your Thoughts Comments. General Comment It is a recipe in german, using references to "the eggs or balls of satan".
To me, it is a test. Imagine someone listening to this song for the first time, and thinking "ohh these guys sing about satan and stuff in german, probably leading some nazi revolution" and they are immediately turned off, and label tool as "satan worshipping nazis" or something. The said person would have failed the test. This song to me, tests a persons ability to thnk for themselves, and to think without blindly judging something.
Makoe on January 22, Link. There was an error. I do imagine the point of this song is about thinking for yourself. But honestly and sadly I don't doubt that a good number of Tool kids are pretty fond of this song without knowing the meanings.
And I say kids, because honestly if you're a grown fucking adult and say you like a song, without knowing what it's saying or even talking about, you suck some pretty sweaty nuts. I never paid much attention to Marilyn Manson, but my boyfriend talks about him at length on occasion.
I imagine, when Manson hated his fans like he fucking should have, the type of attitude you're talking about is what he was singing about in certain songs. AzuraAzenath on March 09, Well said both of you. I couldn't agree more. GodSize on October 18, If what you say is true, in that eggs are a German eupheism for balls, the songs is designed, in addition to the obvious part, to say Satan has no balls.
Makoe I agree with your interpretation except for the focus being on the band. They usually have a larger philosophical picture in mind. As such, I see it as a larger statement of not judging a book by its cover and digging deeper before you apply judgement.
Use your analytical skills not just an unthinking emotional snap judgement. Even in messages that sound bad, there could be something more there. Look deeper. Again, I think we agree on the general concept. Think wider. They are not so self centered to care so much about your perception of themselves. Rather, they want to be your Tool to rethink the ways you process the larger world.
Nunyabizznezz on April 05, General Comment I read the translation, and I think its probably saying how ridiculous Hitlers plans were. How can you have a recipe without eggs? Well, give me credit here I thought of this while I was stoned.
DownedSystem on February 25, Link. No Replies Log in to reply. General Comment Obviously it's a recipe for hash cookies in German, enough said. General Comment I like Makoe's theory. I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that it was just a recipe. Good to know Maynard has a sense of humor. Lyric Correction While I appreciate the translation, I have to say this: These are not the correct words to the song!
The lyrics for 'Die Eier von Satan' are in German, and this is a translation for those words.
