However, having perfect-clarity of all the network channels in unencrypted HD is something that killer apps like TiVo and Eye TV have done well… and Media Center has failed on. Keep in mind that your guide only works on the HDHomeRun. In fact, they are the only tuner maker that has posted a TV Pack guide, I would suggest following that instead for Windows 7 Public Beta, from my experience it works well.
If everyone did, they would fix it. Actually, I used a Hauppage while writing the guide. With only a handful of exceptions ClearQAM seems to be working very well for most hardware. With Hauppauge you do still need to do registry hacks on most tuners. TV tuners are nothing new. Unfortunately, there are limitations. Many current TV tuners lack the ability to tune in digital cable channels.
For viewers in our area, this means anything above channel 75 is out of reach. But there are options for those who want to watch unencrypted digital cable the channels that come with a basic digital cable subscription on their PC. The least desirable option is to connect a cable box to the PC. This gets in the way of easily scheduling recordings and the like. While a TV tuner that supports Clear QAM can tune in some digital cable channels, PC owners still won't be able to watch premium or pay-per-view content without a solution that supports a cable card.

I understand that you can get QAM using an external device, and I also know you can purchase a pc Certified through Cable Labs, however for those of us who already built a computer with a TV Tuner that supports Clear QAM through its own application which mind you I don't like nearly as much as Media Center We would like to know if there is some form of software patch coming down the pipe.
Tuesday, April 29, PM. Brad Any information that anyone could give you, at this point, would be sheer speculation. This is my own opinion on this subject. If any company makes an 'official statement' about a particular feature that will be included or added to a yet to be released or current product, this would then take the form of an 'assumed contract' between that company and it's customers that they will indeed see that feature included in, or added to, the product.
Hope this helps. Thursday, June 12, PM. Yes I'm having the same problem please fix it microsoft. Sunday, June 15, PM.
